•  Donald Douglas, of Douglas Aircraft

"In the early days of jet aviation, Boeing and Douglas Aircraft were competing for sales to Eastern Airlines, headed by famed aviator Eddie Rickenbacker. He told Donald Douglas that their specifications for the DC-8 were close to Boeing's in everything but noise suppression. Then gave Douglas a last chance to out promise the competition. After consulting his engineers, Donald Douglas told Rickenbacker he could not do it. Rickenbacker replied, "I know you can't. I wanted to see if you were still honest. You just got yourself an order for $135 million. Now go home and silence those jets!"

•  Alexa claims there were no thoughts of keeping the one hundred dollars for herself.  "My parents did not raise me to be that way," says Alexa, who is very glad she returned the money.  Read More

•  Daniel Bell, Jr.

Here's what one of his sons wrote about his integrity:

“One time, we took Daniel to the lumberyard with us. Our little four year old daughter, Ruth, picked up a small scrap of wood. As we left, Daniel asked Ruth where she got the piece of wood. She replied, ‘I found it on the floor.’”

He then asked, "Did you pay for it?"

"No," she replied.

"Did you work for it?"

"No."

"Did anyone give it to you as a gift?"

"No."

"Well, then, if you have not paid for it and if it was not a gift and if you had not worked for it and you took it, that is stealing. Now go back to the lumberyard and return it."

Ruth has never forgotten this lesson in honesty.
